Happy 4th of July and Inspiration!

I have recently discovered that one of my favorite magazines Scrapbook Trends has a blog. The publishers, Northridge Media, also publish other wonderful magazines like Cards, Bead Trends, etc. So guess what...they have blogs too!
I've been getting lost in their blogs and the links to other fun sites. Here are the links, go have fun!!
Scrapbook Trends Blog
Cards Blog
Simply Handmade Blog
Bead Trends
I recently subscribed to their online subscriptions. I got the ALL ACCESS PASS...and LOVE it! They send an email when a new issue is available online. I've already seen the August Online Editions! The online editions allow you to electronically bookmark pages, highlight items and even write notes for future reference. Oh, and you can print them too, but since were all about being green these days...save the Earth! Check it out here!
P.S. I promise that I don't work for Northridge Media;)

Remember When...

I made this scrapbook for a lady that works in our department. Her name is Alola! She has been a head cook in our hospital for the past 40 years. She is retiring this week. The scrapbook has lots of photos that co-workers had from over the years. I love the photo of her taken about 30 years ago! She is a great person and wonderful cook! She will be missed very much! Our department purchased her a camera as one of her going away gifts...since she does not own a camera. My wish is that she will have time to take all the pictures she desires now.

Dawn McVey Color Challenge

UPDATE: I received honorable mention for this project in the Guest Star Stamper June contest at Papertrey Ink...check it out here. I'm so thrilled!!
I'm on a roll with these Timeless Templates from Lauren Meader! For me, they seem to get easier the more I do them;) Dawn McVey is having a color challenge this week...so I made a lunch pail in her color scheme. I have to say, this color scheme really stumped me at first. I ended up with something that I really like! It feels good to go out of the comfort zone. I played around with differnt inks and glitters that I had available. I used the Palette pink to stamp on the bitty dots paper and it gave a wonderful soft look. The colors are a little more vibrant IRL...took the photos outside and the sun was VERY bright! Click on the picture to get a more detailed view. TFL!

Perfect for any type of gift giving...including birthdays!!!

My March Madness!

I have so many things to show and tell you today. First, Brenden's 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Meyer, is having knee surgery next week. He has been very concerned that she will be gone and has mentioned to me on more than one occasion "Mommy, we should get her something"...oh that is my sweet boy! It warms my heart that he is so loving! I know that he understands what it is like for someone to have surgery, since I've gone through a few the past two years. He is just my little cherub. Secondly, I've been addicted to learning, following all their blogs and purchasing (shhh!) new craft items from Papertrey Ink the past two months and guess what they are in Cincinnati. I just received some awesome goodies in the mail yesterday. I found so much inspiration from Nichole Heady's blog over at Papertrey Ink. And, don't forget to check out her design team blogs...but make sure you are sitting down first.
I know your thinking...where is this going? Well, last night in a super creative surge...I created all of this for Mrs. Meyer's we're gonna miss you gift.
Let me say, in my humble voice..."I'm a long time scrapper, amatuer at best photographer and a new card maker" You can find all these ideas and more on Nichole's blog!! Thanks Nichole! I can't wait to make more! Ha...I even grabbed the latest issue of Stamp It! Cards tonite at the grocery.
I made all of these little cards to go inside the Card File box (template by Lauren Meader at Papertrey Ink). Check out the photos below!
